Pick up, drop off?
We offer free Siquijor port pick up or drop off and a discounted Larena port pick up or drop off. For the pick up call/text/WhatsApp (no emails please) a few hours in advance to confirm exact pick up time and place on one of our mobile numbers: 0908 1656 277 (Smart) or 0977 9244 677 (Globe). You can WhatsApp us on the Globe number and there is free wi-fi in most ferry terminals. It is a 15 minutes drive from Siquijor port and 45 minutes from Larena port to White Villas Resort
 
Airport transfer?
We offer free transfer from/to Siquijor Airport 10 minutes from the resort. From Dumaguete (Sibulan) Airport on Negros Island it is easy to get a taxi/tricycle to Dumaguete ferry terminal (expect to pay around PHP 200) and catch one of the many ferries to Siquijor
 
Dumaguete-Siquijor ferry connections?
Many daily ferries from 5am to 6pm. The crossing takes 45 minutes - 2 hours depending on ferry company. Expect to pay PHP 150-250 per person and extra for large luggage on Oceanjet fast craft
 
Bohol-Siquijor ferry connections?
Most guests take the daily Oceanjet ferry leaving Tagbilaran 10.20am and arriving at Siquijor Larena port 10.45am. This boat can be cancelled during bad weather/strong winds so check alternative options beforehand if you are visiting during windy times
 
Cebu-Siquijor ferry connections?
Maayo Shipping ferries depart 10am daily from Liloan/Santander at the southern tip of Cebu for Siquijor Larena port. The other way at 5pm. The crossing takes around 2 hours. Most guests coming from Cebu City take the Oceanjet to Larena/Siquijor via Tagbilaran/Bohol
 
Online ferry schedules, booking and buying tickets?
It is difficult to find information and book ferries online (except for Oceanjet selling tickets online via other agents) so feel free to contact us for boat schedules. Most tickets are sold at the port on the day of travel. We can help buy tickets when leaving the resort (at a small fee)
 
Check-in and check-out times?
Normal check-in from 2pm onwards. Check-out before 12noon. Guests can stay in the resort and leave luggage safely if arriving early. Previous guests can check-out until 12noon and our house-keeping staff need time to clean and prepare rooms for new guests
 
Late check-in?
Yes, we leave keys with the night guard for guests arriving after 10PM
 
Direct booking?
Direct booking means booking directly with us e.g. online or at the resort and avoiding the commission to online travel agencies (OTAs) who typically keep at least 17-20% of the room price you pay/we get. We are not allowed to offer cheaper room rates than the OTAs we partner with (Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia etc.) but we can offer free add-ons/extras when you book with us directly with us to give you a better deal. Booking directly or via online travel agencies (OTAs)?
Most guests book via our partner OTAs like Agoda, Booking.com and Expedia. But guests are now also looking for direct booing options as this means no commission paid to the OTA (typically at least 17-20% of the price you pay for a room). We offer special add-ons such as free/discounted transfers, vouchers and more when guests book directly with us via our website. All policies and terms & conditions are the same when you book directly with us and it is safe/secure to book on our website where you can pay with credit cards or PayPal. we can also arrange a bank transfer

We offer similar room rates as the online travel agencies (OTAs) when you book directly with us. We are not allowed to undercut the OTAs that we partner with, but we can offer extra freebies/add-ons for a better deal when you book directly with us (e.g. free transfers, free vouchers). Yes, we organise customised island tours by car or tricycle according to what you want to see/where you want to go. Our staff are happy to recommend if you are unsure. Prices from PHP 1,250-2,500 depending on vehicle type and itinerary. Easy and quick to arrange at the resort (no need for advance booking or planning)
 
Motorbike rental?
Yes. We charge Peso 400/day. Please remember to bring driving license (required)
 
Island Attractions?
Siquijor Island has many sights and attractions including waterfalls, beaches, caves, historic buildings, faith healers (the Island is also known as the ‘healing island), great diving and snorkelling  and much more. Check out the Attractions section on our website.
 
Dive & snorkel?
Siquijor diving and snorkelling, although not (yet) that well known is actually right up there with the very best. Turtles are often seen (sometimes up to a dozen on a single dive), there is the occasional whale shark and larger rays (eagle rays or manta rays), reef sharks tuna, barracuda, corals are still in good condition in many places with lots of ‘macro stuff’ (e.g. nudibranch species). We do not operate our own dive shop but there are many dive shops nearby White Villas Resort resort.
Swim at the beach?
Solangon beach is not very good for swimming, but you can take our free kayaks around high tide to the edge of the reef for swimming and snorkelling in clear water with some corals. And there are good swimming beaches nearby (e.g. Paliton Beach)
 
How is the beach?
The beach is the longest white sand beach on Siquijor Island. December-June it is clean with winds from the northeast. July-November the southwest onshore winds may carry seagrass and plastic on to the beach. We clean the beach daily unless the winds are very strong. The water is shallow a long way out so no good for swimming. Guests can take our free kayaks around high tide to the edge of the reef for swimming and snorkelling. There are good swimming beaches nearby (e.g. Paliton Beach)
 
Swimming pool?
Yes, we have a small swimming pool including a toddler/child pool. The pool is usually cleaned daily in the early morning hours. The pool is 1.3m deep at the deepest and is for our own guests only. Pool rules are posted next to the pool and we have staff receiving regular life-saver training by the local red cross
 
Non-smoking?
All our rooms and restaurant area are non-smoking. Smoking is allowed outside the rooms. Please note the local government non-smoking policy in all public areas
 
Room views?
Most, but not all rooms have views of the resort grounds, pool area, or beach area. Please see individual room descriptions on our website for more accurate information. Room descriptions on online travel agent sites are not always as accurate. Or ask us by email
 
Restaurant and café?
Yes, we have a restaurant with upstairs café right by the beach. 7am-10pm daily. Kitchen last orders at 9pm

We have an extensive menu including both international and Filipino dishes

Yes, these options are available on our menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please talk to our restaurant staff about special needs or requests

No, we generally do not allow guests to bring their own food and drinks from outside into the resort since we have our own restaurant-cafe and bar as part of our business. If you have special dietary needs or requirements, please let out our staff know so we are aware of this and can help as/if needed

Children for free?

What are the beds like?
Our mattresses are comfortable, and we provide (European-style) duvets with cover rather than blankets. Extra beds consist of a folding bed with a thick mattress. Not all rooms accommodate extra (please see individual room descriptions)
 
Bed linen and towels?
Yes, included in the price sand changed every other day. Can change more or less often if guests prefer
 
Cleaning of rooms?
Daily cleaning unless you ask for less
 
Clean property?
We work hard to keep the resort, rooms, pool and beach clean. During strong onshore winds Solangon Beach gets its fair share of sea grass and plastic. We clean our beach section as soon as the winds die down and sometimes guests help out and do their bit for the local environment
 
Massage services?
We arrange massage by qualified masseuses in your room or by the beach. Please book in advance. PHP 500/hour. The traditional deep tissue hilot massage is popular (good for sore, painful muscles)
 
Free drinking water?
We provide free bottled water in the rooms and refillable bottles with cups. Drinking water is freely available in the restaurant. We encourage guests to use the refillable bottles and help reduce single use plastics
 
Car parking?
We offer free, safe parking inside the resort
 
Pets?
No, pets are not allowed unless specifically agree with us beforehand
Number of rooms/how many rooms?
We have 13 rooms (2 Villas, 3 Bungalow Rooms, 1 Executive Sea View Room, 2 Superior Balcony Rooms, 2 Standard Double Bed Rooms, 2 Twin/Single Bed rooms, and 1 Family Bunk Beds Room).
 
Good for groups?
Yes, our resort is suitable for smaller and larger groups up to a maximum of 30-35 people. For large groups please inquire about availability at least a few months in advance
 
Good for families?
We consider ourselves a family-friendly resort (we have 4 children ourselves and most of our staff are parents too)
 
Long-term stays?
Please email us in advance for longer-term stays beyond one week to discuss availability and special offers
 
Conference, meeting facilities?
We do not have meeting or conference facilities
 
Gym?
We do not have a gym but you can jog and walk on the beach (do wear shoes as there can be sharp objects)
 
Quiet or noisy?
Our resort is generally quiet, and all rooms have modern quiet/split air-conditioners. There can of course be noisy guests now and then, as in any resort/hotel, but most guests find our resort pleasantly quiet. Sometimes there is live music or karaoke in the neighbourhood, as well as roosters, all very common in the Philippines. Live music normally stops around midnight latest
 
Nudity and local dress code?
Nudity is not permitted in public areas. Swimsuits are allowed on beaches and swimming areas and worn under other clothes in public places and when travelling on the road in general. Please respect this
 
Eco-certification?
We are not yet eco-certified but working towards it. We minimize single use plastics, provide refillable water and shampoo + conditioner bottles, encourage water saving, use low-energy light bulbs, recycle organic waste (on our farms), practice waste separation, and more. We may introduce solar power when good technology and after-sales maintenance services are locally available. And we now manage our own groundwater supply. Any good ideas to become eco-friendlier are always very welcome!
 
Generator and power supply?
We have our own back-up generator which we start up in case of power cuts/power shortages
 
Water supply?
The water supply in the area is limited and with more resorts we face shortages sometimes. We now have our own deep-well on one of our farms and can become self-sufficient if needed
 
Staff?
Our staff are mostly from Siquijor, and some from Negros Island. Few have formal qualifications but a great attitude when it comes to hospitality and serving others. Several belong to local fishing families
 
Languages?
Our staff speak Cebuano/Visayan, Tagalog and English
 
Safety/security?
Siquijor Island is generally safe, low on crime, protected from strong winds (as a smaller island between larger islands). We do employ guards, but this is more to help manage and check who comes in and out of the resort and welcome late arrival guests. And we have installed cctv to be able to monitor public areas
 
Laundry services?
Please use our inexpensive laundry services to help save water. Washing laundry in the rooms is not allowed. Water supply is limited in the area but we have sufficient back-up supply
